Wildlife Refuges and Sanctuaries
Wildlife refuges are important for stabilizing our ecosystems. As humans, we have caused irreversible effects to our planet. Due to this, many species have been eradicated. It is vital that we allot land to animals for breeding, as well as safe passage during migration. Humans also have a habit of keeping wildlife as pets, which is also detrimental to the survival of their species and a disruption to the balance of the ecosystem. Sanctuaries aid those that are injured or cannot survive on their own by creating an environment -complete with enrichment- to live out the rest of their lives.
Photos in this section are taken at wildlife refuges and sanctuaries.
